  • What is the APHCRI Article Management System?

    The APHCRI Article Management System (AAMS) is a database established to provide a restricted location where unpublished reports produced by APHCRI's ANU and Network staff can be made available to the Department of Health and Ageing staff and related stakeholders. More recently, AAMS has begun to function as a thematic archive for all of APHCRI’s research.

  • What is the process for accessing restricted articles?

    After you have submitted your details, a confirmation will be emailed to you. If you have not received a confirmation email within twenty minutes, please submit your request again. Your request will be assessed by APHCRI staff and a system generated response will be issued.

  • Why do I need to provide my email address?

    Some articles stored on AAMS are restricted access only. In order to download them, you must enter a password. The password will be emailed to you after your request for access has been approved. Passwords are randomly generated and as such we cannot give them to you over the phone.

    Please note that emails from AAMS are sent in HTML format, and some older email clients set to receive only Plain Text may have difficulty rendering them. If you are having trouble identifying the system generated password in your confirmation email, please forward it to and we will be happy to assist you.

  • Why hasn’t my request been approved yet?

    The request queue is moderated manually. Requests submitted during business hours are generally responded to within the hour. Requests submitted on weekends, after hours or on public holidays will be processed on the next business day.

  • There’s something wrong with the article I downloaded. Can you help?

    The system is still in beta and sometimes things go wrong. If the article you’ve downloaded won’t open, please try to download it again. If it still won’t work, please contact with the name of the article, the author and a general description of your problem, and we will arrange for the article to be emailed to you directly.

  • Why can I access some articles without applying for a password but not others?

    Articles are temporarily set as restricted access by the request of the author. This may be because the report is still in draft form, pending a major media release or a further publication. Restricted articles must not be disseminated or quoted without the author’s written consent under any circumstances.

  • How can I search for articles?

    On the right side of your screen below the header, click “AMS Utility”. A search box will drop down.

  • Where should I report site issues?

    Please report all site issues to It would be helpful to include the time the issue occurred, your operating system and browser (including the version, which can generally be identified through the “About” menu), a brief description of the problem and a screencapture if you can.
