UNDERGRADUATE

Medicine
The ANU Medical School offers a four-year graduate-entry medical degree. Students who successfully complete four years of full time study will graduate with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

Fourth Year Honours
The National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH) and The John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR) offer scholarships for students wishing to undertake an honours research project within the College. Successful applicants will be supervised or co-supervised by a member of the academic staff at NCEPH or JCSMR, and by a supervisor in a Faculty or School.

Indigenous students are encouraged to apply.

SUMMER RESEARCH PROJECTS

POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH

The College offers two postgraduate research programs:

 

  • Graduate Studies Program in Medical Sciences

    This program aims to provide students with a diversity of opportunities and training in biomedical research. It draws on and encourages graduates to take advantage of the broad spectrum of expertise and facilities of Canberra's large and distinguished biological, biochemical and clinical community and, as such, is a broad-based program for students studying for PhD and Master of Philosophy degrees.

    A range of research projects are offered, that involve fundamental applications of molecular, computational, biochemical, cellular, developmental, genetic and physiological processes in humans and animal models in health and in disease.

POSTGRADUATE COURSEWORK

  • Master of Applied Epidemiology
    This is a vocational training program in the domains of disease control, Indigenous health and environmental health. It involves three months of intensive coursework at NCEPH and the remainder in a field placement associated with a State or Territory health department or other health-related institution.
  • Master of Population Health
